Lightning over Bennett Ranch by Amber Daulton

Lightning over Bennett Ranch

   By Amber Daulton

Book Description

Melody Bennett’s parents trampled on her teenage romance with a drifter ten years ago. He disappeared without a word of goodbyes on the night they had planned to run away together. Since then, she cast aside her foolish notions of happily ever after and worked hard alongside the hired help to care for the majestic horses on her family’s ranch. She refused to give love another chance and resigned to live her life alone.

Max Fortaine returned with a heart guarded by secrets and a sizable bank account that took blood, prayers and tears to fund. The cowboy disrupted Melody’s peaceful existence with stolen kisses and a promise for more. After a lifetime of running, mistakes and regrets, he vowed to reclaim the only woman he ever loved… if only her overprotective father didn’t stand in his way.

Brenda's Review

This is a very inspiring story on love, loss and ranch hand life. Life on the ranch is more than fun and games for the Bennett family. And Melody's father runs his ranch with a stern hand.Max Fortaine shows up on the ranch looking for work.Mel's father hires him.As soon as Max sets eyes on Melody,he is in love.Max and Melody have a whirlwind romance during that summer.

Melody believing that her and Max were going run off together gets a surprise one morning.Finding Max gone without her.Broken hearted and swears off men. Melody is in for a surprise when one day years later Max shows back up on the ranch.

Max has no intentions of leaving that ranch this time without her.But Melody is putting the breaks on.Can she trust him to not break her heart all over again? Can she put her trust in him? How will she ever get approval from her father if she did give Max that second chance?

I loved the characters in this story, very down to earth and easy to love. This is a quick read so it won't tie you down for days. Easy to follow and flows very nicely.
